Large Scottish Glasgow School Arts Crafts Log Box
A great Scottish Arts and Crafts brass log box or storage box, dating to circa 1910, decorated with Celtic motifs, with circular ring handles to each end. Very much in the Glasgow School style It is possibly made by Margaret Gilmour. The decoration is crisply detailed and it is a good size at 54cm wide, 42cm deep and 34cm high ( all maximum measurements). Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it has been hand polished as the old lacquer had worn unevenly. It will now colour down uniformly. Internally in good condition.
