About us

Levels Antiques was founded in 2003 and is run by Adrian and Amelia Holt based on the Somerset Levels. Experienced in sourcing a wide range of quality items with a passion for our diverse knowledge bases we have specialisms in the Arts and Crafts Movement (particularly furniture, metalware and period jewellery), Objects on Paper and South Asian artefacts (mainly Indian Silver and Bombay School Ceramics.) Our eclectic stock is over 95% non-auction sourced.

Adrian has collected Decorative Arts for over 40 years and has a background as a Fine Art Auctioneer and Valuer. Originally with a degree in Humanities specialising in American Studies and History of Art he qualified with a postgraduate diploma in Fine Art and Chattel Valuation. He was the Fine Art Manager of a Birmingham Auction House, member of the ISVA and RICS plus career moves that saw him employed in high end London retail with an international clientele, in property sales, and now as an independent Auctioneer and Valuer for West Country Salerooms and, his greatest love, Antique Dealing.

Amelia was educated in Art History and gained a First Class Honours in the History of Drawing and Printmaking at the University of the Arts, London. She continued her love of objects on paper with research projects funded by the British Library in the Special Collections Department of Birmingham University Library. She is a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and her interests spread from Tibetan Thangka painting, prints and drawings by travellers in Asia, Indian Silver, Bombay School of Art Pottery to Arts and Crafts Jewellery.

Levels Antiques exhibits at a number of quality Antique Fairs across the country. Please keep an eye on the Events page where forthcoming Antique Fairs are listed.
