Fabulous Goodyers Arts & Crafts Corner Cabinet
A fabulous Goodyers (of Bond Street and Regent Street) Arts & Crafts oak and stained glass two section corner cabinet, dating to circa 1900. An extremely practical piece, as well as looking rather wonderful, it offers a mixture of shelves, display alcoves and cupboards. Goodyers was a firm on a par with Liberty's and the quality shows here with solid cabinetwork and lovely details like the heart and floral piercings to the uprights and the wire work drop handles. In good condition, commensurate with age, with only minor markings it measures 200cm high ( 124cm for the base and 76cm for the upper section) by 116cm max wide across the front. From the back corner to the leading edge it measures 82.5cm ( I.e. from the corner of the room). The top section rests on the base but is also screwed into place from below.
