Early 19th Century W/C Gallipoli Turkey Ottoman
An interesting early 19th Century watercolour topographical view of Gallipoli, present day Turkey, viewed from seawards with sailing ships setting sail with the outline of the town beyond. Several mosques are clearly visible as well as the fort of Seddul Bahr. Inscribed verso in pencil with the title "Gallipoli" and dated 1828, it is in reasonable condition, commensurate with age, although the paper has some creases, the image is slightly faded and there are the odd spots of foxing. An interesting topographical subject nonetheless. The image measures 14.5 cm high by 22cm wide, plus its slip. The price includes UK postage, please contact if further afield.
