Art Nouveau Cylindrical Copper Coal Bin
A lovely Art Nouveau cylindrical copper coal bin, dating to circa 1910, the front decorated with stylised flowers. A very attractive piece, with twin shaped coppered brass handles, fluted lip and shaped knob finial with registration number. It does show some signs of use, with several small splits to the impressed fluted lip, several knocks to the body and finial and a few perforations to the steel base. These tend to have more wear as they were in such constant use. There is a replacement wooden liner but, if you were going to use it to keep coal, I would recommend an inner bucket or other liner. It does look great though! It measures 42cm tall inc lid and 36.5cm diameter at the base. The price includes UK postage.
