Algernon Talmage Etching Horses The Old Favourite
A lovely etching of horses by Algernon Talmage, (1871-1939 RA RBA HRE ROI RWA ), signed in pencil bottom right and probably dating to circa 1920. According to Chris Beetles' Gallery website he had an accident with a gun as a child which crippled his right hand and learnt to paint with his left hand, later studying under Sir Hubert Von Herkomer at Bushey, Herts. He certainly was comfortable with horses as a subject. The image is unframed and in good condition, commensurate with age. The plate measures 147mm by 250mm, with the sheet 265mm by 395mm. The price includes UK postage in a postal tube.
